Convocation – that magical time when happiness and great achievement collide with uncertainty and sadness over saying goodbye to some of your closest friends. What better way chase away those graduation blues than a blues show at George’s Roadhouse?

This Friday, May 14, the Tantramarsh Blues Society will host Texas’ own Andrew “Jr Boy” Jones Band. Born to a musical family in 1948, Jones has been playing guitar since he was seven years old. Since his professional debut at age sixteen, Jones has toured the world, played with blues greats like Freddie King, and opened for acts as diverse as Grand Funk Railroad,  Rare Earth, the Neville Brothers and more. Throughout his career, Jones has released several solo and collaborative records; his latest, Gettin’ Real, was released in 2009.

Expect lots of guitar heroism from Jones and company, and lots of dancing and general good times. The show starts at 9 pm, and is 19+.
